30% Ruling (Expat Tax Benefit)

30% Ruling: Expats recruited from abroad can receive 30% of their gross salary tax-free for up to 5 years (reduced from 8%). This significantly reduces effective tax rate. Requirements: recruited from 150+ km outside NL, specific expertise, minimum salary threshold (~44,383 EUR/year in 2026). As of 2024 the ruling is capped at 30% for first 20 months, then 20% for months 21-40, then 10% for months 41-60.
